If your kids are like mine, they love granola bars. We used to buy a few boxes at each grocery trip and the kids would gobble them all down in only a few days (if we could make them last that long). Granola bars are expensive, especially if you are buying organic. We had actually quit buying them all together to cut down. Then I saw this Pinterest Pin and was too excited! We had to try it. I followed the directions exactly with only two changes. All the crispy rice cereal at the local grocery store used high fructose corn syrup, so we opted for Kashi 7 grain puffed cereal as a replacement. Also we didn’t have the size pan specified. Instead we used a 8×8 metal baking pan. The directions were as easy as I could have hoped, I really was surprised! One batch made 12 bars that were slightly larger than the chewy Quaker bars. These are really tasty too! The kids have been doing extra chores so they can eat them. In fact I just left the computer to go eat one while writing this post. Only downside was mine did become a bit less held together after the first day. They were still not messy or crumbly, just not super firm. For sure a hit in our house and a recipe we will be making regularly! Seriously try them, they are easy!
